![]() Zimbabwe offers a wide variety of travel and holiday opportunities. It is favourable to visit all year round, with a climate of short mild winters and long warm summers. This vibrant heart of Africa is home to the magnificent Victoria Falls - a tourist's haven attracting thousands of visitors each year to experience the diverse variety of wildlife, scenic and adventure activities
Victoria Falls is twice as high and one and a half times as wide as Niagara, and is divided into five separate falls, the Devils Cataract, Main Falls, Horseshoe falls, Rainbow Falls and the eastern Cataract, ranging in height from 60 to 110m. The peak flow is usually around mid April when the spray can rise 450m into the air - hence the name "Mosi-oa-Tunya" - the smoke that thunders. ![]() The Falls are a spectacular 1,701 metre span with 1,200 metres of it in Zambia. The top where the greatest curtain of water starts to plunge is 111 meters (300 feet) high. During the height of the floods, the Victoria Falls has the largest sheet of falling water in the world with over 545 million litres a minute (9 million litres /sec) cascading over the rocky cliffs. It is a popular "add-on" from its neighbouring countries and truly one of the seven wonders of the world. The Falls offers a multitude of activities on both the Zimbabwean and Zambian sides. This adventurer's playground has something for everyone. Although some activities are based on either side of the mighty Zambezi river, most can be enjoyed regardless of which side the clients are staying. The border posts between the countries are open between 06h00 and 22h00 and passports are required for cross border activities. Visa requirements must be checked prior to arrival, a multiple-entry visas are sometimes necessary.
Victoria Falls and Livingston have gained the well-earned reputation of being the ideal groups and incentive destination. There a variety of packages available and specialised activities and meals in unique settings can be tailor-made for larger groups. There are international flight services both to Harare and Victoria Falls and Hwange, Bulawayo and Kariba can be linked internally. There is a good network of major highways which means that Zimbabwe can be visited and toured by road from its neighbouring countries. No inoculations are required at this time but anti-malaria precautions are advisable year round. A valid passport is required and visas are required by some nationalities. In the winter months, May to August, the evenings can be cool and the summer months of September and October are hot and dry, whilst the months of November to March are hot with tropical thunder showers.
