The famous Garden Route is really a "destination all on its own"... This is a "large area" to cover, literally from Cape Town, going north to Port Elizabeth, there is much to see and do, therefore, several days would be needed to cover this route reasonably well. It would take around 4 to 5 hours to drive straight from Cape Town to Knysna/Plettenberg Bay and another 3 to 4 hours straight driving from here, up to Port Elizabeth. Alternatively, there are scheduled flights from Cape Town to George/Plettenberg Bay.
