Is there an ideal time to visit Southern Africa? |
South Africa is an ideal year-round destination, with average daily temperatures between 15 degree C in winter and 30 degree C in summer. The lowveld and east coast areas can get very hot and humid between Nov and Feb. Our autumn and spring seasons are the most moderate (seasons are the inverse of the northern hemisphere). Winter mornings can start of briskly, but daytime temperatures are seldom in the single digit range. Note that Cape Town and surrounds has a mediterrannean climate, i.e. it is a winter rainfall area.
